Electricity Consumption Calculation
This Energy Consumption Calculator or Electricity Consumption Calculator allows you to calculate the energy/electricity consumed by your home appliances, or industrial loads. The parameters required for calculating energy consumption of a Load are the wattage rating of the load and number of hours the load is powered.
Electricity/Energy consumption Formula:
The electricity E in Watt-hours (Wh) per day is equal to the power P in watts (W) times number of usage hours per day:
Device Wattage (watts) x Hours Used Per Day = Watt-hours (Wh) per Day
For example, if a 70-watt television is used three hours per day. The electricity consumption will be:
70 watts x 2 hours = 140 Wh/Day
= 0.140 kWh/day
Electricity/Energy consumed per month:
Now that we know how many kWh/day the appliance uses per day, we can calculate the usage for a month by multiplying it with 30:
Daily Usage (kWh) x 30 (Days) = Monthly Usage (kWh/Month)
0.140 kWh/day x 30 Days = 4.2 kWh/Month
Electricity/Energy consumed per year:
Similarly we can calculate the usage for a year by multiplying the Daily usages with 365:
Daily Usage (kWh) x 365 (Daily) = Yearly Usage (kWh/Year)
0.140 kWh/day x 365 Days = 51.1 kWh/Year
