Vicor unveils the new PI358x series 48V with unique ZVS topology Buck Regulator. The PI358x series enable 48V direct-to-PoL without losing the performance. This series is the successor of its previously released PI354x series. The new regulators operate in input voltage ranging from 30V to 60V and regulates an output voltage ranging from 2.2V to 14V with output current delivery up to 10A. With step-down regulation from higher voltage source, developers and engineers can now deploy more efficient power distribution architectures, reduce I2R losses and eliminate the costly inefficient intermediate conversion stages.
Power delivery can be further increased by using the single wire current sharing without any additional components. The Vicor PI358x series comes in compact size 7mm by 8mm low cost GQFN package for better board design. This makes it a perfect fit for application areas such as higher voltage distribution including: telecom, network infrastructure, data centers, industrial, battery, and lighting applications.
