Diode Incorporated introduced the AL5816Q automotive-compliant linear LED controller for Automotive LED lighting. The AL5816Q is a 5-terminal adjustable constant current linear LED controller offering excellent temperature stability and current capability. With its low 200mV current sense FB voltage, it controls the regulation of LED current with minimum power dissipation compared with traditional linear LED drivers. This makes it ideal for medium to high current LEDs. The device offers wide input voltage range from 4.5V to 60V and works across automotive supply ranges including transients.
The 15mA driving capability at its OUT pin gives the device to drive external bipolar transistors or MOSFETs with the ability to drive longer LED chains with low drop out voltage and multiple LED channels. This feature makes it a perfect fit for applications such as Automotive Rear Lamps, Automotive Interior Lamps, Automotive Instrumentation Illumination and Automotive License Plate Illumination. The devices are qualified to AEC-Q100 Grade 1 and are totally Lead-free, Fully RoHS Compliant, PPAP capable, Halogen and Antimony Free Green Device.
