Infineon Technologies AG has introduced its new PSOC™ Control microcontroller (MCU) series, engineered for cutting-edge motor control and power conversion applications across diverse sectors including home appliances, power tools, renewable energy, industrial drives, and lighting. Featuring the Arm® Cortex®-M33 core, the PSOC Control MCUs offer enhanced on-board functionalities for optimized current measurement, waveform generation, and real-time operations, making them ideal for sophisticated system applications.
The PSOC Control MCUs are equipped with a clock speed of up to 180 MHz, high-performance analog-to-digital converters (ADCs), and high-resolution pulse-width modulation (PWM) capabilities. The integrated CORDIC Accelerator provides faster, jitter-free sampling of up to 16 analog signals, improving real-time control tasks and reducing system-level BOM costs. Additionally, the MCUs' deep sleep and hibernate modes deliver significant energy savings, making them suitable for low-power and battery-driven applications. The new MCU family also supports advanced power electronics designs based on wide-band gap technologies like Silicon Carbide (SiC) and Gallium Nitride (GaN), further enhancing performance and cost-efficiency.
