The Renesas Electronics Corporation has introduced a new Renesas Solution Starter Kit (RSSK) for developers working with the 32-bit RX23E-A Microcontroller (MCU) by bringing together hardware, software and tools optimized for evaluating the MCU’s high-precision 24-bit delta-sigma (ΔΣ) A/D converter with industry-leading accuracy. The RSSK was designed to optimize the evaluation of the RX23E-A AFE, which allows the users to check the characteristics of the 24-bit ΔΣ A/D converter with high accuracy, regardless of analog development expertise levels.
The RSSK evaluation board is equipped with a plug-in terminal block to connect a variety of sensors without soldering, a thermocouple (temperature sensor) connector, and the reference junction compensation circuit required for thermocouple measurement applications. Users can immediately start their evaluation by referencing thermocouple and weigh-measurement application software.
The Graphical user interface (GUI) tool allows the user to enter and change settings for a variety of AFE and A/D converter parameters, display graphs and histograms of A/D conversion results to simplify the task of evaluating characteristics matched to the user’s system. The power to the device can be supplied via the USB connection so that both evaluation and software development can be accomplished easily. The most popularly used drivers ICs for RS485 and CAN and mounted inside the evaluation board for the development of an application with industrial networking standards.
The users can check A/D conversion results in real-time like an oscilloscope with the help of a GUI. The RX23E-A RSSK is available now, priced at $464 per unit (pricing and availability are subject to change without notice). For more information, visit the RX23E-A RSSK product page.
