Diodes Incorporated has introduced four new additions to its popular DML30xx series smart load switches: DML3008LFDS, DML3010ALFDS, DML3011ALFDS, and DML3012LDC. These devices offer control over high-current (ranging from 10.5A to 15A) power domain switching for voltage rails spanning from 0.5V to 20V. They're engineered to efficiently manage power delivery to a variety of components including microcontrollers, graphic cards, ASICs, FPGAs, and memory chips. Their versatility makes them suitable for a wide array of applications such as servers, computing hardware, networking infrastructure, gateways, solid-state drives, notebooks, tablets, industrial equipment, hot-swappable devices, and peripheral ports.
These devices feature a chip-on-chip configuration with a controller chip on top of a low RDS(ON) N-channel power MOSFET, ensuring a compact design that enhances power density. Underside heat pads are included to improve thermal efficiency, reducing operating temperature and enhancing reliability. With minimal power consumption (on-state current <150mA(typ.) and standby mode 0.1mA(typ.)), they offer efficient operation.
Integration of various features streamlines circuitry requirements, leading to fewer components, reduced PCB space, and faster time to market. Additionally, these devices offer quick discharge capabilities for controlled rail power-down and thermal shutdown protection.
