According to a recent study by Boston Consulting Group, India is home to 19% of the world's chip designers. With NVIDIA’s partnerships, significant growth opportunities in AI and data centers are emerging.
NVIDIA's AI Summit in Mumbai from October 23-25 at the Jio World Convention Centre, promises to be an exciting event that will bring together leading experts from India and across the world to discuss AI innovation. With over 50 sessions, live demonstrations and workshops, the summit will focus on how AI is being used to tackle major challenges in areas like healthcare, agriculture and manufacturing. One of the key moments will be a special discussion on October 24 with NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang and Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani, where they will talk about how AI is transforming industries and how India is becoming a global leader in AI.
NVIDIA has also taken a big step in strengthening its partnership with India by proposing to create a special AI chip for the country. Reports indicate that NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang shared this proposal with Prime Minister Narendra Modi earlier this year. India’s large skilled workforce in semiconductor design is a key reason for this proposal. The chip could be specially designed for Indian projects like improving the security systems of Indian Railways. This move aligns well with India’s goals under the AI Mission and Semiconductor Mission and it could boost the country's presence in the global semiconductor market.
The summit will also highlight India’s growing startup ecosystem, especially through NVIDIA’s Inception program, which supports around 2,000 startups in India. These startups are developing AI solutions across many sectors and will be a major focus at the event. Attendees will get the chance to participate in hands-on workshops and see live demos, giving developers and AI enthusiasts the opportunity to explore NVIDIA’s cutting-edge tools. Topics ranging from robotics to supercomputing will be covered, showing how AI is shaping the future of various industries in India and worldwide.
NVIDIA’s connection with India goes beyond this event. With over 4,000 employees across six offices in the country, the company is working closely with businesses, startups and the government to build strong AI infrastructure. As Jensen Huang visits India, the focus will be on how these collaborations can drive innovation and make India a key player in the global AI industry.
