Infineon Technologies released the latest OPTIGA Trust M solution which will help manufacturers to increase the security of their devices while at the same time improving overall system performance. The OPTIGA Trust M is a single-chip solution which securely stores unique device credentials and allows devices to connect to the cloud up to ten times faster than software-only alternatives. The single-chip solution is ideal for smart homes, consumer electronics, drones, industry, and building automation.
The OPTIGA Trust M single-chip solution makes cloud service provisioning easy to fulfill the need of growing cloud connectivity and AI-based applications. The OPTIGA family integrates hardware security controllers with software which increases the overall security of embedded systems, including edge gateways, IoT end nodes, and cloud servers. When deploying OPTIGA Trust M, the critical assets of a solution such as certificates and key pairs are used to identify a device can be injected into the chip at Infineon’s secured factory premises. The turnkey set-up minimizes design, integration and deployment effort of embedded systems by giving a protected I2C interface, cryptographic toolbox and open source code on GitHub.
The high-end security controller is certified to CC EAL6+ (high) and gives advanced asymmetric cryptography. It provides a lifetime of 20 years and update can be done securely in the field. Also, the easy-to-integrate solutions range from basic device authentication to Java card-based programmable components along with trusted platform modules and extensive use case support.
The OPTIGA Trust M is available now along with evaluation kits to simplify integration of the security solution.
