ROHM's LogiCoA001-EVK-001 power supply solution is designed for small to medium power industrial and consumer equipment, ranging from 30W to 1kW. This solution leverages both analog and digital technologies to provide the functionality of fully digital control power supplies while maintaining low power consumption and cost. The core component is the high-performance, low-power LogiCoA™ microcontroller (MCU), which facilitates control across various power supply topologies. This MCU stores settings such as current and voltage values, allowing for the correction of performance variations without the need for design margins, leading to more compact and reliable power supplies. Additionally, the solution features an analog-digital fusion control system, combining a digital control block with analog circuitry that includes silicon MOSFETs and other power devices, ensuring precise control and high reliability.
Operational data can be logged in the MCU's nonvolatile memory, making it ideal for industrial equipment requiring backup in case of malfunction. To aid evaluation, the REF66009 reference design provides a non-isolated buck converter circuit along with essential tools like circuit diagrams, PCB layouts, parts lists, sample software, and support documents. The optional LogiCoA001-EVK-001 evaluation board is also available for more in-depth device assessment.
