Samsung’s new Exynos 9 series 9810 increases smartphones user experience with its premium features of 2.9GHz custom CPU, an industry-first 6CA LTE modem, and deep learning processing capabilities
Samsung launched the latest premium application processor (AP) named “Exynos 9 Series 9810” built on the 2nd generation of Samsung’s 10-nanometer (nm) FinFET process. This Invention takes the level of performance of smartphones and smart devices to a higher level.
“The Exynos 9 Series 9810 is our most innovative mobile processor yet, with our third-generation custom CPU, ultra-fast gigabit LTE modem and, deep learning-enhanced image processing, the Exynos 9810 will be a key catalyst for innovation in smart platforms such as smartphones, personal computing and automotive for the coming AI era,” said Ben Hur, vice president of System LSI marketing at Samsung Electronics.
Exynos 9 series 9810 enables seamless multitasking with faster loading and transition times between the latest mobile apps, with an eight-core CPU. Between these eight-core four are comes with powerful 3rd generation custom cores that allow to reach 2.9 gigahertz (GHz) and remaining four optimized for efficiency purpose. It increases 40% of multi-core performance than the previously invented. Exynos 9 also increase the security on most advanced mobile devices and the cutting-edge technology allows the processor to perfectly recognize people or items in photos for fast image searching, or through depth sensing, scan a user’s face in 3D for hybrid face detection, the processor has a distinct security processing unit to safeguard vital personal data such as facial, iris and fingerprint information.
“Exynos 9 Series 9810” selected as a CES 2018 Innovation Awards HONOREE in the Embedded Technologies product category and going to be displayed at the CES 2018 on 9-12 January, in Las Vegas, USA.
Samsung started mass production of “Exynos 9 Series 9810” application processor.
Exynos’s LTE modem supports a 4×4 MIMO (Multiple-Input, Multiple-Output) and 256-QAM (Quadrature Amplitude Modulation) scheme, and utilizes enhanced Licensed-Assisted Access (eLAA) technology which allows it delivers more stable data transfer at a blazing speed 1.2Gbps, with streaming and broadcasting videos up to UHD resolution in both normal and 360 degrees visual format. It is the first Cat.18 LTE modem to support up to 6x carrier aggregation (CA) for 1.2Gbps downlink and 200 megabits per second (Mbps) uplink, in comparison to the predecessor’s 5CA.
Users also get higher level of experience by Exynos 9, allows real-time out-of-focus photography in high resolution and able to shoot brighter picture in low light with reduced noise and motion blur, level of video recording format also increased with multi-format codec (MFC), supports UHD resolution at 120 frames per second (fps) and 10-bit HEVC (high efficiency video coding) and VP9 support. It also provides 1,024 different tones for each primary color (red, green and blue), which is a much wider color range and with more accurate color fidelity, through this user will get a rich level of video recorded stuff.
