With the aim to make it convenient for the customers to launch their new chip in the automotive market, Sondrel has introduced a new quad-channel, SFA 350A IP platform that has been architected with ISO26262 applications and the fast integration of customer IP. This new platform helps in simplifying and speeding up the creation of the required evidence bundle to ensure that the final product can swiftly achieve ISO26262.
Designed specifically for ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) that are used to support driverless or automotive vehicle applications, the new SFA 350A IP platform can cut design costs and time to market by up to 30%. Sondrel addresses this innovative, semi-custom platform approach as ‘Architecting the future’. It has four channels for sensors that can be either passive, such as optical via camera inputs, or active using LASER or RADAR.
The extremely low cost-effective solution is suitable for collision avoidance, detection of crossing the central white line or gathering 3D information via a pair of cameras. Besides reducing costs, the new semi-custom, reusable SFA 350A IP platform makes it easier to give indicative costs for customers right at the start so that they can see how cost-effective and affordable our solution will be. This can help in setting the budget for a new project and deciding its viability.
The framework architecture design of the SFA 350A IP platform is scalable, and it enables the processor units for the chip’s four channels to be selected according to the processing power required by the application without requiring any changes to the interconnects and I/O to the rest of the chip. The modular approach of the platform makes it quite versatile and scalable.
