AAEON, a leader in embedded solutions, has unveiled their new SBC the GENE-EHL7, a new member of its 3.5” SubCompact Board series. This GENE-EHL7 is available in different variants, featuring Intel Atom x6000E series, Pentium, and Celeron N and J series Processors, offers a power-efficient option for implementing solutions in smart retail, smart city, and industrial automation in a compact format. The GENE-EHL7 comes with various processor options like Intel Atom x6413E, Intel Celeron Processor J6412, or Intel Celeron Processor N6210. These processors ensure cost-effective yet efficient performance for a variety of industrial applications.
The GENE-EHL7 stands out for its ability to support three displays simultaneously using HDMI, DP, LDVS, and eDP connections. AAEON highlights its suitability for POS and kiosk systems, given its small size and versatile display interfaces. Enhanced security for data transfer is also a priority, evidenced by the optional TPM 2.0. The board's networking capabilities are robust, featuring Dual Gigabit Ethernet and two USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports, alongside the option for Wi-Fi module expansion through an M.2 E-Key. This makes it an excellent choice for data collection and networking in smart city frameworks. Storage is another of the board's strengths, offering multiple options like SATA, a full-size mPCIe slot, and an M.2 M-Key for PCIe or SATA storage expansion.
The GENE-EHL7 is equipped to handle various industrial communication protocols, thanks to its two COM connectors, an 8-bit GPIO, and SMBus, making it ideal for PLC applications and other industrial automation needs.
