TLX9309 New Analog Output IC Photocoupler presented by Toshiba for Automotive Application

Toshiba launches the new Analog Output IC Photocoupler TLX9309 to provide high-speed communication capability in automotive applications.

TLX9309 empowers high-speed communication in automotive applications, mainly for Electric and Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEV). It has a high-output LED made up of GaAIAs, integrated with a high-speed detector consist of photodiode and a transistor. This detector provides an amplified level of common-mode transient immunity up to 15kV/μs. Due to having separated photodiode and an amplification transistor, results in reduction in collector capacitance and propagation delays between 0.1μs and 1.0μs, which makes the devices TLX9309 faster than other devices with transistor output.

TLX9309 is a RoHS compliant device offers various features which makes it different from the similar ICs. Some of the features are analog output, 1Mbps of data communication rate, less propagation delay, and AEC-Q101 qualified. Also, covers a wide range of applications such as automotive equipment, fast signal communication with equipment, and I/O signal communication in inverter control circuits.

Operating voltage range for TLX9309 is -0.5V to 30DC, and drives up to 25mA at Vout of up to 20V. The current transfer ration for TLX9309 is in the range 15 to 300%. TLX9309 offers 3750Vrms of isolation with 5mm of creepage and clearance for the safety isolation purpose. Also, it comes in a small footprint of 3.7mm x 7.0mm x 2.2mm 5-pin SO6 package. It has a wide operating temperature range of -40°C to +125°C
