STMicroelectronics has introduced the TSB952, a dual operational amplifier (op amp) that features a 52MHz gain-bandwidth and a supply current of 3.3mA per channel at 36V. This op amp is designed for power-efficient applications. The TSB952 supports a wide supply voltage range of 4.5V to 36V, allowing it to work with various power sources, including standard industry voltage rails. This wide range helps the system manage large transient spikes and voltage drops. The op amp also provides rail-to-rail output swing, which is useful for applications requiring a broad dynamic range, such as signal conditioning in power supplies.
Operating in temperatures from -40°C to 125°C, the TSB952 is suitable for industrial and automotive applications. STMicroelectronics plans to release automotive-grade parts meeting AEC-Q101 standards in late 2024. The devices have a 4kV ESD tolerance (human body model) and are designed to resist electromagnetic interference (EMI). The TSB952 comes in a compact 3mm x 3mm DFN8 package with wettable flanks, allowing for efficient PCB design. It is also available in the SO8 package with standardized pin assignments, making it easy to upgrade existing designs for better performance.
Availability:
The industrial-grade versions in DFN8 and SO8 packages are in production now, with automotive-qualified devices expected in Q3 2024; pricing starts at $0.96 for orders of 1000 units, with samples available from the ST eStore.
