Project Idea
Title: FOREST - Fire Observation and Rapid Emergency System Technology
The FOREST project aims to revolutionize forest fire prevention and early detection through an innovative approach. By strategically placing long metal rods equipped with lightning grounding and temperature sensors, the system effectively mitigates the risk of forest fires caused by lightning strikes. Additionally, the temperature sensors enable the early detection of fire outbreaks from other sources,
The system works by installing these metal rods at regular intervals, approximately 1 km apart, throughout the forested areas. These rods act as grounding for lightning strikes, effectively diverting the electrical energy away from the trees and minimizing the risk of fire. The integrated temperature sensors continuously monitor the ambient temperature, promptly detecting any significant rise associated with a potential fire.
When a fire-related temperature increase is detected, the system sends immediate alerts to the forest authorities and fire departments. This rapid emergency notification allows for quick response and action, minimizing the spread and damage caused by forest fires
The FOREST project emphasizes the importance of leveraging advanced technology to protect our forests and preserve their ecological value. By combining lightning grounding and temperature sensing capabilities, this system provides a comprehensive solution for preventing forest fires caused by lightning strikes and promptly detecting fire outbreaks from various sources.
Through the implementation of the FOREST project, we aim to enhance forest fire prevention efforts, safeguard natural ecosystems, and protect the lives and livelihoods of communities dependent on these valuable forest resources
