Smart Plug with energy monitoring
This project aims to develop a smart plug with energy monitoring and energy saving features. The device will be able to monitor real time power usage and will also be able to enable or disable the load remotely or use timer functions to save power. A web dashboard will make the device easy to use and configure. ADE9153A energy metering chip is used for monitoring the VRMS, IRMS, apparent, reactive and active power of the connected single-phase line. The ADE9153A is powered using an isolated voltage regulator ADuM6000ARIZ from analog devices. This will not only ensure the safety of the low voltage side but also will enable us to measure the Line voltage from 0 to line voltage level. The ADE9153A is interfaced with the ESP8266 SoC using ADUM4152BRIZ Digital isolator for proper protection.
