A car or any other means of transport is a need these days. But one major drawback is that the fossil fuel powering these vehicles is slowly getting depleted and not to forget the pollution caused therein its adverse effects (climate change) that are the scary reality of burning fossil fuel. Furthermore, there are a lot of old vehicles guzzling fossil fuel still out on the roads. There has to be some means to recycle these vehicles as well as power them from green power. This project takes its idea from here!

The project aims at designing a powered motor drive that can retrofit into an existing vehicle easily and enable the vehicle to run on green electric energy. This is also coupled with solar power to assist the drive electronics and charge the batteries on the go. This comes in handy when traveling long distances wherein there may not be a charging station and one faces difficulties of how to charge the batteries and power the vehicle. With solar power, you need not worry about charging the batteries and can have a continuous source of power for the vehicle. In addition to this, regenerative braking is also added to the system which further conserves power and helps to charge the batteries on the go. I hence present to you a Solar Assisted Hybrid Electric Car!
