Project Idea
Energy through Crowd - By traveling through a metro city we come across the energy millions of people exhaust on a daily bases. My project aims at generating energy using the pressure (a physical force to create a potential difference) applied by footsteps of an individual. Using piezoelectric effect to demonstrate the energy generation at a small scale even proving the effectiveness of a large scale implementation by corresponding power calculations giving a commercial viability. Construct smart tiles with embedded
piezoelectric sensors - generating a potential;
rectifier unit - conversion to dc;
stabilizer & charging unit - to ensure safe usage;
power analyzer - calculate the efficiency of device;
By integrating the above components I will be able to produce a scalable and robust product which can efficiently generate energy by harnessing the daily movements of individuals. Even factoring in the drawbacks such as loss per tile will be much less than energy harnessed per tile is the projection of my project based on initial calculations.
